Mattheus Louw

Director

Mattheus Louw has been a senior lecturer in the Department of Management, Rhodes University, Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), for the last 15 years. He teaches and researches in human resource management, strategic management, leadership and cultural management. Before that, he worked for various local authorities specialising in organisational development and human resources.

He holds an MBA from Stellenbosch University and is registered as a Master HR Professional at the South African Board of People Practices(SABPP). In addition, he is a Member of the Executive Committee of the South African Board of Personal Practitioners (SABPP) – Eastern Cape Branch and a past executive Committee member of the South African Institute of Management Services (Local Authorities). Together with colleagues, he received the award for the best qualitative paper at the SAIMS conference in 2016.

He has extensive international teaching experience and has been teaching at universities in The Netherlands, Germany, Nigeria, and China for the past 15 years. He has attended numerous national and international conferences, published in nationally accredited academic journals and published chapters in academic textbooks. He has been a member of the Southern African Institute for Management Scientists (SAIMS) for the past 13 years and a Director on the Board of Directors of the Southern African Institute for Management Scientists (SAIMS) since 2014.
