Prof. Jacques Nel


Prof Jacques Nel is an associate professor in Business Management at the University of the Free State. He holds a Ph.D. from Stellenbosch University. 

Jacques is passionate about digital marketing, and his research focuses on investigating the adoption of businesses’ digital marketing applications by consumers. It includes mobile-service adoption behavior, factors influencing the migration of online-service users to mobile services, and social media marketing. 

He has published in journals such as Behavior & Information Technology, Journal of Product and Brand Management, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services,  International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Financial Services Marketing, Management Dynamics, and the South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences. Jacques is a C2-rated researcher by the NRF.
